Texecom & Halma have won an award for personnel development at this year's Yorkshire Productivity (YP) Awards. YP cover the region from the Scottish Borders to the English Midlands.

The award category was "Best Group NVQ Award" which is based on NVQ implementation & development across a multiple site/business organisation. The main sponsor for this award is the National Skills Council (a UK government body).

The award was presented by David Hodges of the North West regional director of the National Skills Council. Twelve delegates from Texecom attended the awards, nine of which are supervisors currently participating in NVQ Level 3 training based on "Business Improvement Techniques". Areas of training are focused on "Lean Manufacturing Tools" such as 5S, Value Stream mapping & Kaizen.

The ceremony was held at the Met Hotel in Leeds in which over 100 companies were involved in the awards.
